List charter and other info kootenaycuts.com/list-info/ This list is sort of like a cranky disciplinarian. It insists on perfect netiquette - having things a certain way. It will not accept anything it perceives as coded. This is to protect us all from any nasty little virii sneaking in. "Plain text" is the only kind of message that can be read by all subscribers, so it's the only kind that the list will accept. You need to turn off your mail program's "send messages as HTML" feature. Also, turn off any feature that mentions "MIME" or "RTF" or "Rich Text". If you see something called "plain text," choose that instead of anything else. If you want to read about this in more detail: Configuring Mail Clients to Send Plain ASCII Text. "Non-relevant quoted material" refers to stuff copied from the original message that doesn't help to establish the context of your reply (which is the purpose of "quoting"). If your message includes a copy of the mailing list instructions, that means you weren't very diligent about removing the "non-relevant quoted material" before sending it. That's why the mailing list refuses your message. If your message contains your own words, plus someone else's words to which you are responding, and nothing else, then it will be accepted. |
